The Téthys Structure

A framework agreement of cooperation between universities

 

The Université Téthys is founded on the principle of a consortium of universities within which each partner is a full member, participating actively on an equal methodological and scientific level according to expertise. It is a field university with academic and administrative structures, governed by the framework agreement of cooperation between universities of 29 January, 2000, which outlines the regulations for management and functioning.

 

 

> The Administration

 

- A board of directors made up of the vice-chancellor or president of each partner university, determines the educational and scientific policy of Téthys. It is an authority of orientation and decision.

- A board of training and science , made up of representatives from each member university, proposes joint actions and their follow-up with regards to training offers and research programs, to the board of directors

- A president , elected by the board of directors. The president is responsible for the university performing well in all its statutory, administrative and financial actions, and executes the totality of the fixed policy.

- A director ensures the everyday management of the university next to the president, in relation to management services.

-An administrative staff is in charge of the general coordination of the partnership; the Université de la Méditerranée (Aix-Marseille II) provides administrative and financial services for the Université Téthys.
